Program Progress

The program for WOCREF 2012 is taking shape with the acceptance of a score and seven abstracts from researchers and practitioners in the Netherlands, Ireland, England, Italy, South Africa, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, the United States, and Croatia. The diversity of topics includes aspects of safety, programs to increase cycling, mountain biking trail resilience, social meanings, e-bikes, and commuting cycling to name a few. The full list of authors, presenters and titles can be viewed here and includes students, practitioners and senior academics.

Such a diverse range of presentations will produce a program with something of interest for everyone and is guaranteed to spark discussion and debate throughout the Forum and its associated social program. More on the presentation program, social events, registration and accommodation options will be posted as organisation for the forum continues. More specific information about WOCREF 2012 can be found here.

WOCREF 2012, Enschede, The Netherlands: 13 – 14 September

Following from the success of the inaugural event in Brisbane, WOCREF 2012 will be held at the Conference Hotel Drienerburght on the campus of the University of Twente in Enschede, a delightful city in the east of The Netherlands.

Joining WOCREF organiser Stu Clement as co-Convenor will be Professor Martin van Maarseveen. Martin is Head of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Geo-Information Management at the University of Twente and is one of the principals behind the Cycling Academic Network.

WOCREF is the ideal opportunity for those active and interested in research into cycling to present their work and even present their ideas for work, to others of a similar persuasion. WOCREF encourages feedback to presenters and is particularly encouraging for students to present progress at whatever stage on their work.
